Breakthrough
I’ve been tinkering with a framework in which to present my stable of characters in a comic strip, and nothing has felt quite right.
I had already decided that the name of the strip had to have something to do with the strip being an amalgamation of the various individual ideas I’ve had in the past. It’s meant to be a mashup (to borrow a Web 2.0 term) of characters that have been floating around for a dozen years or more in my head. The name I had chosen was Youpi — which is the pronunciation of U.P. (which was decided against because it would doubtless be referred to as Up), which is an abbreviation for Unrealized Potential.
Too convoluted. And not very catchy.
Thankfully, an idea hit me like a lightning bolt last Friday, and I’ve been working with it ever since. I think it’s a home run, but I’m not going to reveal it here on the blog just yet…I want to try to come up with a couple of strips first.
But it does involve a brand new character, and I’m currently working on some character sheets to work into a strip bible for reference.
